Once I change it (BUT for every new document - argg!) things work fine. I've added Adjust List Indent to the command bar as a quicker shortcut, but it still defaults to the Redmond mandated values. The list in normal.dotm, then new documents have the undesired (0.25" and 0.5") settings. If the list is left intact only that initial list is unindented for new documents - all other lists need to be unindented still. I've created a list, done the Adjust List Indent, and resaved normal.dotm (both with the list intact and removing it). I'm presuming that this is the proper location for the normal.dotm file for me: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
